                7EL STACKED 2005

Erik workt on the elevator platform

30-07-2005 I went for a new yagi now i stacked a 7el yagi with a boom of 18 meter (60ft)

The Stackmatch:

With this device from Array Solutions we have the possibility to switch with antennas. The stackmatch is capable of handling 3 antennas at onces and u can select every configuration u can think of.Why we wanna do things like that?

Every incomming signal has it's onwn incomming angle at the receving location. By choosing the antenna that corresponds the most with that angle you achieve the maximum signal to noise ratio.

The highes place antenna is over the all recond the best for Pacific region, The lowest for Europa
And selected both u get almost 3dB more gain into the regions in between.

Now with the sunspot minimum it isn't a real advantege since most signals now tend to be very low anyway.

The experience sofar are: that it varies quite a bit even within seconds to wich antenna is the best. On Dxing qso's difference in the order of 2 s-units are not rare. Last even on a local qso (300km) the difference was much bigger.

There are several kinds of stackmatches availible, with some electronic knowledge u could even make it your self. For me the one made by Array Solutions seemed to fit me the most.
